Jamal Adams signs for one season with the Tennessee Titans
Free since leaving Seattle last March, safety Jamal Adams has found a buyer. The 28-year-old joins the Titans for one season and adds to a backfield already strengthened by the arrivals of L'Jarius Sneed (CB) and Chidobe Awuzie (CB) earlier this year.
Disappointing and often injured in recent seasons, Jamal Adams will seek to regain the level he had when he shone with the Jets. Three times Pro Bowler (2018, 2019 and 2020), the player has made 493 tackles, 21.5 sacks (record for all) in the 80 games of his career defensive back since 2017) and 4 interceptions, including one for a touchdown. Renowned for his ability to get the quarterback, the safety has not made a single sack since 2020.
Kenny Pickett is happy with the change
Selected in the first round of the 2022 Draft by the Steelers, Kenny Pickett (QB, Eagles) saw his adventure with the “Black And Gold” end prematurely. Traded at the start of the year to Philadelphia, the quarterback will now have to settle for a backup role behind Jalen Hurts. A situation that doesn't seem to bother him, as he confided to Philadelphia Inquirer.
“Change is a good thing and that’s what I’m experiencing right now. I was in Pittsburgh for seven years (editor’s note: he previously played for the Pittsburgh Panthers in the NCAA) and now I’m in Philadelphia. I think a lot of people probably have a negative view of change, but it’s just a matter of perspective. I think if you keep a positive mindset, everything will work out for the best.”
Mike McDaniel looking for more ways to use De'Von Achane
Last April, the Miami Dolphins moved up in the draft to select Jaylen Wright (RB) in the fourth round. With Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane already in place, Mike McDaniel knows how lucky he is to have a group of this quality.
“The whole group, mainly led by Raheem, is in quality and depth the best I've known. And I've known a lot of good groups.”
Within that committee, rookie De'Von Achane was a standout last season with his speed and explosiveness. Qualities that allowed him to record the best average per carry in the league (7.8 yards/carry). For McDaniel, there is still a lot to get out of his player.
“The second year, you let things settle down, you understand more why you’re doing everything. The more he understands the offense, the more opportunities he’ll have to get the ball. He’s had exceptional production, and I know he thinks he’s going to get more opportunities and we need to find different ways to get him the ball, different passing patterns or running patterns that he can be comfortable with.”
Draft 2024: An economic boom for the city of Detroit
In a joint statement, the Detroit Tourism Bureau and the Detroit Sports Commission welcomed the economic benefits of the 2024 Draft, which was held last April.
That figure comes to $213.6 million for the city and surrounding area, including $161.3 million generated by tourists not residing in southeast Michigan.
In total, 775,000 people participated in the latest Draft and its festivities, spending an average of $275.

The latest video features rookies Caleb Williams (QB, Commanders) and Rome Odunze (WR, Bears). And the graphics seem to be well done.
The game will be released on Friday, August 16, 2024 in France.

Cam Newton Absent from Christian McCaffrey's Wedding
Christian McCaffrey (HB, 49ers) got married on June 29 in Rhode Island to former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, but one person was missing: Cam Newton. Despite three seasons together in Carolina, the former quarterback was not on the guest list. In his podcast 4th & 1 with Cam Newtonthe 2015 MVP was also surprised by this situation, having learned of his former teammate's marriage from his girlfriend Jasmin Brown. McCaffrey responded in an original way via an Instagram post, simulating a conversation with Greg Olsen (who was invited to the wedding).
“It was a great night, but you know what would have made it even better? If Cam was here. I haven’t had a response to my texts in four years. In fact, they’re turning green now.”
Not holding a grudge, Newton asked the running back if he had his number right, before congratulating the newlyweds.
A shower of awards at the ESPY Awards

Patrick Mahomes won a second ESPY, this time for the Best Athlete Award, while Jayden Daniels (QB, Commanders) won the equivalent award as a college athlete, and Lamar Jackson (QB, Ravens) won the award for Best Play of the Year.
