NFL Playoff Scenarios: Commanders, Broncos and Chargers’ turn

The Commanders, Broncos and Chargers have their destiny in their hands. A victory, and they will be present for the NFL playoffs.

The Falcons also have a chance to complete their qualification, but they will need a little help. Same thing for the Rams.

But it is quite possible that all the qualifiers for the final phases will be known at the end of Week 17.

AFC Conference

Already qualified:

Buffalo Bills (12-3) – AFC East

Houston Texans (9-6) – AFC South

Kansas City Chiefs (14-1) – AFC West

Baltimore Ravens (10-5) – qualified for the playoffs

Pittsburgh Steelers (10-5) – qualified for the playoffs

Kansas City wins the number 1 seed and home-field advantage in the playoffs if:

Kansas City Chiefs (14-1) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (10-5) – Wednesday at 7 p.m.

KC wins or draws
BUF loses or draws

Denver qualifies for the playoffs if:

Denver Broncos (9-6) @ Cincinnati Bengals (7-8) – Sunday at 10:30 p.m.

DEN wins or draws

Los Angeles qualifies for the playoffs if:

Los Angeles Chargers (9-6) @ New England Patriots (3-12) – Saturday at 7 p.m.

LAC wins or draws
MIA loses or draws + IND loses or draws

NFC Conference

Already qualified:

Detroit Lions (13-2) – qualified for the playoffs

Green Bay Packers (11-4) – qualified for the playoffs

Minnesota Vikings (13-2) – qualified for the playoffs

Philadelphia Eagles (12-3) – qualified for the playoffs

Detroit wins the number 1 seed and home-field advantage in the playoffs if:

Detroit Lions (13-2) @ San Francisco 49ers (6-9) – Monday night at 2:15 a.m.

DET wins + MIN loses

Philadelphia wins the NFC East if:

Philadelphia Eagles (12-3) vs. Dallas Cowboys (7-8) – Sunday at 7 p.m.

PHI wins or draws
WAS loses or draws

Atlanta wins the NFC South if:

Atlanta Falcons (8-7) @ Washington Commanders (10-5) – Sunday night to Monday at 2:20 a.m.

ATL wins + TB loses

Los Angeles Rams win the NFC West if:

Los Angeles Rams (9-6) vs. Arizona Cardinals (7-8) – Saturday night at 2 a.m.

LAR wins + SEA loses or draws
LAR wins + LAR wins the tiebreaker on the strength of the defeated opponents
LAR draws + SEA loses
(Note: LAR wins the tiebreaker on the strength of the opponents beaten on SEA with 3.5 or more victories of the following teams: MIN, BUF, SF, WAS, CIN, CLE)

Washington qualifies for the playoffs if:

Washington Commanders (10-5) vs. Atlanta Falcons (8-7) – overnight from Sunday to Monday at 2:20 a.m.
