[NCAA] Week 12 – The awakening of Carson Beck

NCAA Player of the Week 12 – Carson Beck (QB, Georgia)

His game (against Tennessee): 25/40, 347 yards, 2 touchdowns, 3 races, 32 yards, 1 touchdown

Since the start of the season, his name has often been mentioned in the flops of the week. This week is the exception. It's a question of whether it's all or nothing with Georgia's quarterback…

In a pivotal match for Georgia for qualifying for the playoffs, Carson Beck shows himself at his best. He stopped a series of 5 consecutive matches with at least 1 loss of ball, and delivered a more than convincing performance.

Well protected, better in pocket management, the Bulldogs quarterback was able to make some very nice throws. Two of these come to the same player (Oscar Delp) for 6 points. He handled Tennessee's defense well like last season, and shows why he was named among the top 10 in our first mock draft. He even allows himself a touchdown on the run after seeing the pocket crash into him. Proof that he can also know how to improvise.

All that remains is to confirm this great performance during the last 2 matches of the regular season. In any case, he earns a lot of credit with NFL scouts in an important game to kick off Georgia's end of the season.

Quoted in last week's Footeuil, Drew Allar played a very “lost” Purdue team (1 tackle for Frenchman Jeffrey M'Ba). Completing his first 10 passes, the Nittany Lions quarterback could create a surprise next April if he shows up.

The handymen are out. Travis Hunter and Tyler Warren carry their respective teams on their strong shoulders. In addition to making another spectacular reception, the Colorado player scored a touchdown… on the run. Not hiding his wish to win the Heisman Trophy (college MVP), Hunter gives facts of great importance.

The Penn State player also scores a touchdown in a…48 yard run (!). A rarity for a tight end, best receiver and… runner on his team this week. The team that drafts him will have the opportunity to cook him in every way, with quality.

Clemson can thank its quarterback Cade Klubnik (more on that later). But, throughout the game, Barrett Carter was everywhere. The linebacker is the best tackler on his team, and consolidates an already high rating. A rating that continues to climb for the all-rounder defensive back by Texas Jahdae Barron. Once again, he made several impact plays. With a sack and an interception under his belt, the player is also in the statistics. His more than ample sample should guarantee him a selection in one of the first 3 rounds.

The revelation of week 12 NCAA – Elijhah Badger (WR, Florida)

His game (against LSU): 6 receptions, 131 yards, 1 touchdown

Freshman quarterback DJ Lagway and coach Bill Napier – in the hot seat – can thank him.

Elijhah Badger is the man of the match offensively for Florida against LSU. The former Arizona State receiver – former university of Jayden Daniels (QB, Commanders) – scored a touchdown in the first half to open the scoring, then was not far from the double at the start of the last quarter.

For the third time this season, he surpassed the 100 receiving yards mark. With his 3rd touchdown of the season, he already equals his total from last season. This service can allow him to have a chance to show himself to NFL recruiters.

In a crop of receivers less impressive in terms of quality, Elijhah Badger presents assets that could interest NFL teams lacking depth in targets. His receiving technique is good when the ball is thrown well. He can be capable of spectacular receptions, in addition to being a threat in yards after reception.

However, he shows shortcomings in his first step. Its tree of plots in order to stand out is not provided enough. Improvements of which he still has 2 games to show that he has a chance of being drafted.

  • Sonny Styles (S, Ohio State): 6 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 passes defended
  • Shilo Sanders (S, Colorado): 5 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble

The duo Cade Klunik (or Clutch Klubnik) – Antonio Williams carries Clemson. The quarterback scores the winning touchdown on a 50-yard run. The receiver at number 0, and scored his 7th and 8th touchdowns. He even recorded his first career game with more than 100 receiving yards. These 2 players should stay for 1 more year before trying their luck for 2026.

Alfred Collins decisive. The massive Texas defensive lineman forces a fumble on an Arkansas receiver late in the game. Thus, he allows his team to breathe and win the match. A rare mobility and a determination that could open the doors to the professional world for him.

The best defender of this rich squad is perhaps in the back curtain on the Columbus side. Sonny Styles is the definition of hybrid profile. A linebacker who can sometimes play safety, he takes over from Ohio State's usual pass rushers, recording 3 sacks in the last 2 games.

Finally, he is often in the shadow of his little brother. He is already experienced (24 years old). However, seeing him drafted in 2025 would not be surprising. Despite his limited potential, Shilo Sanders shows through certain sequences that he can be a rotation player in an NFL squad. He still has too many flaws, but his sample size may be enough for an NFL team to select him between the 4th and 7th rounds.

Week 12 NCAA Flop – Will Campbell (OT, LSU), Kobe Wilson (LB, SMU)

7 sacks, that's what the LSU offensive line conceded against the Florida defensive line.

In this offensive line, Will Campbell plays left tackle. In these 7 sacks, the NFL prospect is responsible for 2 of them. In addition to the sacks, the former protector of Jayden Daniels (QB, Commanders) still concedes a penalty for a false start. Since the start of the season, Will Campbell has always conceded at least one penalty.

Second in our first mock Draft, 4th this week, Will Campbell therefore delivers a performance unworthy of a first round of Draft. Despite some good protections on certain sequences, the left tackle has perhaps never suffered as much as this weekend.

This performance will undoubtedly highlight the lack of power he shows against lively pass rushers. Better on racing games this weekend, he still has progress to make in this area.

For the future, NFL recruiters will have to ask themselves the question about its positioning. Is he a guard or a tackle? The probable answer should arrive in September 2025.

NCAA Week 12 Summary

Places for the top 12 to reach the playoffs are expensive. In this game, teams may have lost big.

This is the case for BYU (6) and Tennessee (7). The Volunteers' case is perhaps less serious since they lost against Georgia (31-17). But the case of the Cougars is perhaps more worrying. By losing at home against Kansas (17-13), BYU conceded its first defeat of the season, but remains at the top of the Big 12 conference.

A conference that Colorado (17) covets. Deion Sanders' men won in style against Utah (49-24). They still remain under threat from Arizona State and Iowa State, both winners this week, but they are on the right track.

It's also very close in the SEC conference. Texas (3) wins with forceps against Arkansas (20-10). The other Texas team, Texas A&M (15), is in good shape against New Mexico State (38-3). Alabama (10) does the same against Mercer (52-7). The conference final could be played between these 3 teams in addition to Georgia, Tennessee and Ole Miss (11), who did not play this week. Finals that will not be made by LSU (22), which loses to Florida (27-16), nor Missouri (23) which loses 34-30 in the last seconds against South Carolina (21) (see more late).

Oregon (1) is still undefeated. The 11th victory of the season did not come without difficulty against Wisconsin (16-13). The Ducks are closing in on the Big Ten Conference Finals, but remain under threat from Indiana (5), Ohio State (2) and Penn State (4). The latter two won this weekend without difficulty against Northwestern (31-7) and Purdue respectively (49-10). Indiana did not play this week.

In the ACC conference, SMU (14) may have won more than one game against Boston College (38-28). The Mustangs are getting closer to the conference finals. To challenge them, they can count on Clemson (20), winner at the finish of Pittsburgh (24-20), and the Miami Hurricanes (6) who did not play this weekend.

Finally, we already know about a conference final. It is in the AAC conference, and will pit the Army Black Knights against the Tulane Green Wave. Jon Sumrall's players (HC, Tulane) reached this final for the third time in a row by beating Navy 35-0.

Week 12 action

South Carolina Gamecocks runner Raheim Sanders holds off the entire Missouri Tigers defense. Touchdown, victory, and goodbye to the playoffs for Missouri. However, future first rounder and receiver Luther Burden III thought he had given his team the victory a minute before.

The reception of week 12

Remember his name for the 2027 Draft. This prodigy is called Cam Coleman. This class promises a lot at the receiver position, with Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State) and Ryan Williams (Alabama).
