NCAA – Interview: Wilfried Pene, the rise of the French chameleon

After his adaptation last season, Wilfried Pene (91) wants to continue his progress at Virginia Tech.

The French in College Football, it’s starting to become a trend!

After receiver Anthony Mahoungou, passed by Purdue between 2015 and 2017, many representatives of France are trying their adventure in the United States to demonstrate that the French tank is promising. SMU defensive end Junior Aho will notably run for the 2023 NFL Draft at the end of April. But the succession is assured for the years to come.

Wilfried Pene is part of this growing contingent. Leaving early in an American high school, the Tourangeau was recruited by Virginia Tech, in one of the very best conferences in the country, and had to constantly adapt to find his place. Between attack and defense, management of mass gain and hierarchical battle over his position as interior defensive lineman, the one who is currently taking part in spring camps with the Hokies (with a training match in sight on April 15) has granted an interview to look back on his journey and project himself on his objectives for the months to come.
