Nasir Adderley (ex-Chargers) announces his retirement at 25

At the end of his contract with the Chargers, Nasir Adderley was supposed to find a new team during this free agency. Finally, he stops.

The 25-year-old safety announced the news this Thursday on Instagram.

“After a period of serious reflection, I have decided that it is time for me to leave American football.

For the past two years, I’ve denied this realization, but I’m finally going to put myself first. My health matters more than anything and those around me know it.

Seeking my purpose has given me the confidence to know that I no longer have to be an employee. My goal is to spend more time with those I love, run businesses, and follow my passion, which is to seek true liberation.

That being said, it was a dream to be in the NFL and have the opportunity to play for the Chargers. I think I’ve only scratched the surface of the player I can be, but if it’s at the expense of my peace of mind, then it’s not for me anymore.

I can proudly say that I gave it my all for this game, through everything I went through. It has been a joy to create such incredible relationships, and I have no words to express the love and gratitude I have for you. »

Drafted in the second round in 2019, Adderley played 50 games for the Chargers. He had 232 tackles and 3 interceptions.

If he talks about his health, it’s probably because he never played a full season.

In four seasons, he earned $6.5 million.
