Matt Ryan: “With the Colts, it was shit for 18 months”

Twelve games. Four wins. Fourteen touchdowns. Thirteen interceptions. The Matt Ryan experience at the Colts has not really been unforgettable.

And it is not the main interested party who will say the opposite. In an interview with The Athletic, Ryan vividly summed up his year and a half at Indianapolis.

“It was shit (shit show, in VO). It was shit for 18 years. Basically, that’s the best way to describe it. But I think everyone in our family handled it well and came out of it stronger and in great condition. »

After this disastrous last season, the Colts had cut Matt Ryan. The quarterback has not officially announced his retirement. Because he does not close the door to a team that needs a quarterback during the season.

“I stay in shape. I think it’s a bit like, ‘You know my number. You know where I am.’ If something were to happen, you know, we’ll see. [CBS] is where I’m focusing at the moment. But we’ll see how the season goes. »

In May, Ryan announced on X that he was joining the CBS Sports team as a consultant. He made it clear at the time that it was not a retirement announcement.

At 38 and after a very complicated season, it would still be surprising to see him return. And above all, at what level?
