Matt Ryan sent to Indianapolis

One of the most illustrious falcons leaves the nest.

The Falcons and Colts have been negotiating in recent days to finalize the deal. As confirmed by NFL Media Atlanta is parting ways with Matt Ryan to send him to Indianapolis.

The consideration would be a third-round draft pick according to Pat McAfee. Ryan arrives in Indiana with a big $150 million contract negotiated in 2018 but restructured several times.

Despite statements of confidence in Ryan, the Falcons emerged last week as strong candidates to sign DeShaun Watson (QB, Browns) which has clouded the veteran’s prospects in Georgia. For their part, the foals had an urgent need to recruit. The Carson Wentz attempt (QB, Commanders) being sold out, Indianapolis had to find a capable starter to start the 2022 season.

Selected in 2008, Ryan is the best quarterback in Atlanta history. He led the club to the Super Bowl and produced 59,735 passing yards for 367 touchdowns to 170 interceptions.

In 2021 he played all 17 games of the season, recording 3968 yards, 20 touchdowns for 12 interceptions as well as 82 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground.
