Marquise “Hollywood” Brown joins the Chiefs

Hollywood is coming to Missouri. ESPN announces that Marquise Brown will sign for one season and $11 million with the Kansas City Chiefs. The receiver confirmed his arrival with the reigning champions on Instagram.

A short contract but which falls exactly into the needs of Kansas City, looking for reliable targets for more than a year despite two consecutive titles.

Last season, Brown played in 14 games for the Cardinals. He caught 51 balls for 574 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Marquise Brown, a player to revive

Selected in the first round of the 2019 Draft by the Baltimore Ravens, Marquise Brown gained momentum during his first three years, until passing 1,000 yards in 2021.

But since his trade to the Cardinals before the 2022 season, he has stalled. 709 yards in 2022, then 574 last season. Not helped by the problems of the Arizona attack or the injury to Kyler Murray, he becomes a player to revive.

It is perhaps also this uncertainty which explains the relative good deal that the Chiefs can try on this one. Complementing Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce, Brown has the potential to add a deep threat and make Kansas City's offense much more formidable than in 2023.
