LIVE – Draft 2024: the 5th round analyzed choice by choice

The 2024 NFL Draft continues its 5th round, from picks 135 to 175. Let's start looking for nuggets.

Follow the analysis of the 5th round picks of the 2024 NFL Draft live

136. Seattle Seahawks (via Denver Broncos) – Nehemiah Pritchett (CB, Auburn)

Author of an interesting season in 2023 at Auburn, the great Nehemiah Pritchett will give competition to Tariq Woolen and Devon Witherspoon. He is the first cornerback selected by the Seahawks in this Draft.

137. Los Angeles Chargers (via New England Patriots) – Tarheeb Still (CB, Maryland)

The Chargers address the need at the cornerback position with their 5th selection. Tarheeb Still is not the biggest or most polished at the position. But, he is a fluid and instinctive player, giving rotation to Asante Samuel Jr. and Kristian Fulton, who arrived in the offseason.

138. Arizona Cardinals – Xavier Thomas (EDGE, Clemson)

9th selection for Jonathan Gannon and the Cardinals. This choice turns to a pass rusher, the 2nd selected in this draft after Darius Robinson. Pure pass rusher, Xavier Thomas will first bring into the rotation, before perhaps being a long-term starter.

139. Washington Commanders – Jordan Magee (LB, Temple)

Frankie Luvu and Bobby Wagner will have company in the rotation with the selection of linebacker Jordan Magee. Best tackler on his team over the last two seasons, he has a shot to play behind the two experienced players to find a place in the final squad.

140. Los Angeles Chargers – Cam Hart (CB, Notre Dame)

Second selection in this 5th round for the Chargers. Jim Harbaugh and his staff are once again turning their attention to a cornerback with the potential to play on the outside with Cam Hart. Slender and experienced, he could seek a starting place during the 2024 season.

141. Buffalo Bills (via Carolina Panthers) – Sedrick Van Pran-Granger (OL, Georgia)

Central Georgia's downfall ends there. The Bills have a fairly poor rotation at the center position, and two-time college champion Sedrick Van Pran-Granger could quickly shake up the hierarchy.

142. Indianapolis Colts (via Carolina Panthers) – Anthony Gould (WR, Oregon State)

Small, but electric. Anthony Gould will first contribute on special teams on kick return, before perhaps becoming the X factor of the Colts attack. He is the 2nd receiver selected by the Colts after Adonai Mitchell in the second round.

143. Atlanta Falcons – JD Bertrand (LB, Notre Dame)

The Falcons select a 4th defensive player in this 2024 NFL Draft. On the other hand, it is the first linebacker called up with JD Bertrand, tackle machine for loss.

144. Chicago Bears (via Buffalo Bills) – Austin Booker (EDGE, Kansas)

Chicago returns to this 2024 NFL Draft with a 5th selection to fill a need in the pass rush. Austin Booker has gained in consistency during the 2023 season. Showing himself during the Combine process, he can earn his starting stripes from the start of next season.
