Lions – Titans (52-14): Detroit’s stroll

Detroit Lions (6-1) – Tennessee Titans (1-6): 52-14

How to win a game by having a negative difference of more than 100 cumulative yards than your opponent? The Lions give you the answer with this first victory of the season with more than 50 points scored.

Jared Goff throws for less than 100 yards, no receiver exceeds 50 receiving yards. But, with 3 touchdowns and six different touchdown markers, the Lions' still convincing performance allows them to escape to the top of the NFC North division.

The Titans only existed for 1 quarter. Then it turned into a demonstration. Dan Campbell's men won this match without forcing. After the departure of DeAndre Hopkins, the Titans should trigger the 2nd stage of their reconstruction.

Lions taking advantage of gifts from the Titans

Usually, the Lions start very strong on offense. This week, it's the defense that does it with an interception from Trevor Nowaske. This will set the tone for the Lions' attacks. Except for the last touchdown of the half, their first 4 touchdowns took less than 2 minutes to be scored.

Everyone is having a great time. Whether it's St. Brown (2 REC, 7 yards, TD) or Brock Wright receiving or Gibbs (11 carries, 127 yards, TD) and Montgomery (9 carries, 33 yards, TD – 1/1, 3 yards, TD) in the race, the Lions share, which is very good for the collective. The former Bears running back even allows himself to throw a touchdown pass for Sam Laporta (6 REC, 48 yards, TD). Jared Goff (12/15, 85 yards, 3 TDs) doesn't even force it, and throws for only 28 yards in the first half, but 2 touchdowns.

However, opposite, the Titans dominate the meeting with 285 cumulative yards, but make so many mistakes. Mason Rudolph's 2 interceptions (22/38, 4 races, 295 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INT) are punished with 2 touchdowns. Then, on special teams, Khalil Dorsey enters Titans territory without being stopped. Despite Mason Rudolph's 2 touchdowns, the Titans are already far away, and the game is already over.

Fumbles, the new specialty of the Lions

The Lions are so many points ahead that they have to find new ways to score a touchdown. The worst part is that it works. The first play of the second half for the Lions was a punt returned for a touchdown by Kalif Raymond. This no longer gives the Titans any hope.

The defense even allows itself to be at the level of the attack. Between 2 caused fumbles including one close to the touchdown, the Lions will even allow themselves to give a double to Kalif Raymond (2 REC, 14 yards, TD, 5 kick returns, 190 yards, TD). Jahmyr Gibbs exceeds the 100 yard mark for the 2nd consecutive week, but they will not score a double. Dan Campbell gives Hendon Hooker the chance to finish the match.

Opposite, the reasons for satisfaction on the side of the Titans are rare. The defensive line sacks Jared Goff 4 times. Calvin Ridley (10 REC, 143 yards) is visibly freed from the departure of DeAndre Hopkins with his first game with more than 100 receiving yards of the season, but without a touchdown. A receiving touchdown scored by Nick Westbrook-Ikhine alone.
