The Lions picked Hendon Hooker to backstop Jared Goff with their 3rd round pick (68th pick). He is therefore the 5th quarterback chosen from this 2023 vintage. Previously, the Lions had exchanged choice 62 to go to choice 68 with the Denver Broncos.
Productive in Tennessee for the past 2 college seasons, the quarterback injured his knee late last season, but should be back in the 2023 season.
He will bring his precision in the deep throws as well as his mobility, a style very different from that which Jared Goff can offer.
