Houston has a problem
A wind of doubt is blowing in Houston. On the upward slope since last year, the Texans are stuck 2/3 of the season. CJ Stroud takes the 2nd grade wall week after week, and when Joe Mixon isn't playing fireman on duty, the offense suffers.
DeMecco Ryans and his defense also seemed stunned in sequence against the Titans this Sunday. So yes, Houston is still at the top of the division but the impression is bad on the Texas side.
Houston, we have a problem.
The 49ers on the brink
It's going to take a big turnaround and some luck not to see the 49ers fall into the abyss. The reigning NFC champions only have a 15% chance of going to the playoffs with this defeat against the Packers.
A slim hope which seems even more restricted given the impression left by Kyle Shanahan's players this weekend.
A new sheriff in town
The misfortune of the 49ers inevitably makes one (some) happy in the NFC West. In this little game, it is for the moment the Seahawks who are enjoying it the most. The Seattle team has just taken the lead in the division after its victory against the Cardinals.
With 2 wins in a row, Mike McDonald seems to have put things back in order, especially in defense. Seattle is inconsistent but has talent. Enough to keep your head?
Brice Young is better
Dave Canales may have had a hollow nose when he sent Brice Young to the bench during the season. By “breaking” the status of 1st choice, the coach reduced the pressure around his young quarterback.
Brice Young seems more and more serene and his “body language” is much more inspiring. Young is even starting to erase some of his flaws with 0 interceptions in 2 games and a reduced number of sacks conceded… There is still a long way to go but the player has perhaps definitely been back on track.
The Giants are sinking into crisis
No one really expected the Giants to be particularly better with Tommy DeVito rather than Daniel Jones at quarterback.
On the other hand, seeing New York put out such a catastrophic performance against the Buccaneers says a lot about the atmosphere within the Big Apple group. Statements before matches, statements after match, Brian Daboll seems to have lost his squad.
The time for change is approaching in New York.
Kliff, are you there?
Is Kliff Kingsbury slipping back into his bad habits? Accustomed to missing his second games of the season since he started coaching, Kingsbury is starting to worry in Washington.
While the Commanders had reached the mark of 30 points or more, 6 times in the first 7 weeks, the capital team has not crossed this threshold for 5 weeks. This Sunday, it took a high-class action from Terry McLaurin to see an offensive spark.
Yes, it's also the lot to have a team led by a rookie quarterback, but with the history of the offensive coordinator, we are wary.
Mike Tomlin doesn't like Thursdays
In a trap match carried away by the madness of Jameis Winston, Mike Tomlin disappointed with some coaching errors (choice of penalty, clock management, etc.). Not so surprising a situation actually.
Because if you don't like Monday, know that Mike Tomlin hates Thursday. The coach lost again on a Thursday night and therefore has a record of 2 wins for 9 losses during Thursday Night Football.
A statistical anomaly in the career of a coach whose balance sheet always breaks even or better.
Mike Evans like nothing happened
Absent for more than a month, the veteran returned as if nothing had happened this week. With 5 receptions and 68 yards, he finished as the best receiver on his team. Simply talent.
Kavontae Turpin is the best returner in the league
OMG KAVONTAE TURPIN FOR A 99 YARD TD!
