Kevin Byard sent to the Eagles by the Titans

Philadelphia is getting a double All-Pro to strengthen its rear guard.

Philaldelphia shows its ambitions and continues to strengthen. According to NFL Media, the Eagles arranged a trade with the Titans to get Kevin Byard. In compensation, Tennessee receives two picks in the fifth and sixth rounds of the 2024 draft, as well as Terrell Edmunds.

It’s a big transaction that allows the Eagles to get their hands on a safety named twice All-Pro and twice Pro Bowler, in 2017 and 2021. As soon as the news was announced, Nick Sirianni announced at a press conference that he would not comment on the situation “at this time”.

But the club needed help in its aerial defense, with Justin Evans, Reed Blankenship and Bradley Roby currently unavailable.

Selected in the third round of the 2016 draft, Byard signed a $70.5 million contract in 2019, leaving him under contract through the end of the 2024 campaign (but with no guaranteed money). For his part, Edmunds only had a one-year agreement with Philadelphia.

In his eight-year career, Kevin Byard recorded 27 interceptions, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 4 recoveries. He joins a team that is coming off a prestigious victory against the Dolphins, with prospects much brighter than in Nashville.
