This is the good news of the summer for the Packers, they have reached an agreement with Kenny Clark, the defensive tackle. The amount of the contract is $64 million for three seasons, as confirmed by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. In 2024, he will receive $29 million.
A three-time Pro Bowler, the former 2016 first-round draft pick has had a prolific career so far in Wisconsin. In a season that promises to be crucial for the Packers, Matt Lafleur needs a cohesive roster and this signing is a good signal before the start of camp. In the meantime, perhaps something better comes with the expected contract extension of quarterback Jordan Love.
Kenny Clark Rarely Injured, But Never All Pro
Since his arrival, Kenny Clark has not been out of the starting defensive 11 since the 2017 season. Often cited as one of the best nose tackles in the country, he has nevertheless never been elected to an All Pro team.
In 2023, he totaled 7.5 sacks, his career high in a season. He combined that with 44 tackles, and 16 pressures. After 8 NFL seasons, Clark has played in 123 games, for 34 sacks, and 71 pressures on the quarterback.
