The stars are heading towards the exit in Denver. After Russell Wilson, it's Justin Simmons who takes the door.
ESPN announces that the safety will be cut. Enough to allow the Broncos to recover $14.5 million in payroll. As a reminder, the franchise's accounts will be largely weighed down by the departure of Wilson. All the savings therefore seem good to take.
At 30 years old, after eight seasons with the Broncos, Simmons will finally experience a second franchise. And there should be no shortage of suitors.
Justin Simmons, unemployed All-Pro
On the field, Justin Simmons may have been a little less impactful last season, but he still had 70 tackles, 3 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles in 15 games.
It still earned him a second-team All-Pro selection. An honor that he also received in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
In 118 games with the Broncos, including 108 as a starter, Simmons had 30 interceptions and 604 tackles.
