Justin Simmons bounces back to Atlanta Falcons

Justin Simmons joins Atlanta's defense for 2024 for a “paltry” fee

Phew, Justin Simmons has finally found a club. The All-Pro safety signs a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons. According to NBC, his contract is worth $8 million. A ridiculous amount compared to the best players at his position, and without taking any risk for the franchise.

Harrison Smith or Jabrill Peppers, to name a few, earn a higher annual salary than the new hawk. However, few can boast of having a career as rewarding individually as Justin Simmons. The former Broncos had 4 All-Pro selections and 2 Pro Bowls with his former franchise.

The player also has a special aura. In 2024, his peers ranked him again in the NFL Top 100, at 57e position. More than fame, Justin Simmons has always been an important player on the field. At 31, he has had 8 NFL seasons for a total of 30 interceptions, all with exemplary regularity.

Atlanta is squandering

The Falcons are not stopping. After Matthew Judon, acquired in a trade with the Patriots, Raheem Morris sees the arrival of a new important element to improve his defense.

Atlanta needed talent on that side of the ball. With just over 3 weeks left in the regular season, his additions can only increase the ceiling of a team that focused primarily on offense at the start of the offseason.

Justin Simmons comes to form with Jessie Bates III one of the best safety duos in the league, at least on paper. Atlanta is becoming a more and more complete team as the days go by, now it is time to convert the test.
