Junior Aho has not yet had his chance in an official match, but he remains in the NFL. After spending a good part of the season in the Falcons practice squad, he will continue in Atlanta.
On Monday, the Georgia franchise announced that the Frenchman had signed a contract reserve/future.
As a reminder, these contracts do not count in the squad of 53 players to which all teams remain limited until March, even when they will not play in the playoffs. But the players who sign these contracts will be integrated into the expanded squad of 90 players authorized during the offseason from March. Then, we will have to try to survive all the training camp cuts, until the group returns to 53 players for the next season.
Players who, like Junior Aho, were in the practice squad during the season, became free after the last match. With this reserve/future contract, Atlanta ensures that it has him again for the offseason.
A third season for Junior Aho?
Undrafted in 2023, the 25-year-old defensive end passed through the Vikings and the Panthers before arriving in Atlanta last October.
In the 2024 preseason, he had 4 tackles and a half sack for Carolina.
