Still a free agent, Julio Jones signed for one season with the Eagles. The 34-year-old receiver will therefore experience the 4th franchise of his prolific career, after ten years with the Falcons, one season with the Titans and another with the Buccaneers. If the contract is currently for the practice squad, there is no doubt that he should join the main team very quickly.
Among the Eagles, Julio Jones will notably reunite with AJ Brown, whom he worked with for a year in Tennessee. The star receiver from Philadelphia has already expressed his joy at finding his former teammate, calling him his “big brother”.
While he may no longer be the player he was in Atlanta, Jones can certainly bring his experience to a young and talented group of receivers. Behind the indisputable starters AJ Brown and Devonta Smith, having a player experienced in major events is necessarily a plus for a team which is clearly aiming for the title.
This signing looks like a good deal for both parties. On the one hand, the Eagles are getting a very talented and experienced player, whose professionalism is recognized in the league, all for a probably lower salary. On the other hand, Julio Jones signs a contract in a competitive team, where he will have the chance to express himself, and to aim for a championship title which is missing from his record.
