The star runner will not run away.
It is the third pillar of the day who receives the tag from his team. According to NFL Network, Las Vegas decided to apply its exclusivity on Josh Jacobs in order to keep the runner in Nevada.
The Raiders initially refused to activate the fifth year option of his rookie contract, but after Jacobs emerged as the best running back in the league this year, the franchise had no choice but to retain him. During the season he ran for 1653 yards, plus 400 yards received.
If Jacobs signs his offer, he will play the 2023 season for a guaranteed $10.091 million unless he finds a long-term deal with the club by July 15. Failing that, he will become a free agent again next year.
