Joe Burrow: “The Bengals are built to beat the Chiefs”

Joe Burrow honestly thinks so. The Bengals are the Chiefs’ nemesis. And the talented quarterback hopes to repeat the feat.

When it comes to success, the Chiefs are unbeatable in the NFL these days. The franchise just reached the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years.

Only one team seems to succeed in shaking them up: the Cincinnati Bengals. For their quarterback Joe Burrow, all this is far from being a coincidence.

In the Kelce brothers' New Heights podcast, the number 1 in the 2020 draft returned to this anomaly which stands in the way of the Chiefs dynasty highway.

” I don't know. I think we both work very hard. They [Kansas City] have excellent players, we also have very good playersBurrow first explained. In my opinion, we match each other pretty well.

I think the Bengals are built to beat the Chiefs. I will always enjoy the legendary battles we fight. The guys are out there, always ready to do something. Patrick [Mahomes] is always there to find the key. Both teams have impressive defensive lines. It's a great rivalry. »

Burrow, the black beast

Cincinnati has taken the lead over the Chiefs three times in their last five meetings. Including a conference final snatched from Kansas City in 2022 to prevent Patrick Mahomes and his team from going to the Super Bowl.

Knowing that Joe Burrow was absent in one of these five games, his personal record against the Chiefs and Mahomes is 3 wins for only one loss.

With the Chiefs ready to put their title on the line to win a third Lombardi in a row, we will have to deal with the Bengals. Once again, the two teams will meet during the regular season.

The match will be played at Arrowhead Stadium. And if Burrow manages to beat Patrick Mahomes a fourth time, he will officially become his bête noire. The Chiefs needed one. Waiting for a new peak in the playoffs?
