For the past few years, the NFL fashion for just about every winning team has been to make sure no one believed in them. Even Tom Brady got caught there sometimes.
This victim position has been pushed to the point of caricature. Fortunately, the NFL found its save.
Don’t count on Joe Burrow complaining that bad guys wouldn’t believe in him and his team.
“I’m sick of this underdog angle,” he told The Athletic on Saturday. “We are a very, very good team. We are here to make noise. We are a very good team with good players and good coaches. ”
He has confidence in himself and his teammates, and that’s enough for him. It’s nice. And a bit normal too. We had ended up forgetting it.
