Jimmy Lake is no longer the Falcons' defensive coordinator. After a year of service the technician was shown the door according to NFL Media.
It must be said that the man in charge of defense on the Atlanta side has had a complicated season. The Falcons finished the season ranked 23e rank in terms of points and yards conceded. The fault in particular is porous air defense (31e in touchdowns conceded), on paper a strength of the former defensive coordinator, specialist in defensive backs.

The Falcons' season is a bit of a disappointment. The arrivals of Kirk Cousins (QB) and Raheem Morris (HC) were not very positive. The first saw the bench during the season. The second, defensive specialist, did not find a solution to make his players perform.
Jimmy Lake, who arrived with Raheem Morris from the Rams in the offseason, therefore looks like the first fuse. The last two games of the season, decisive for the playoffs, and lost in overtime, must also have forced management's hand.
