Jets: Tim Boyle is the new starting quarterback

This is the end of the Zach Wilson adventure on the New York side.

The New York Jets tried, but ultimately Zach Wilson joined the bench. Orphaned by Aaron Rodgers, the New York franchise has decided to put the former second overall pick in the draft on the bench, and to start Tim Boyle ahead of the meeting with Miami, according to NFL Media.

Despite the support shown by Robert Saleh since the start of the season, Gang Green has therefore decided to change option. After another disappointing outing against the Bills, Wilson had already been replaced by Boyle, the sanction is now final.

For Zach Wilson, the snub is total. Because he won’t even have the right to the position of understudy. Trevor Siemian will be number two. Wilson slips to third.

It remains to be seen whether Tim Boyle can revive a moribund offense with Wilson. The quarterback has had three starts in Detroit, and his statistics are far from flamboyant: 607 yards thrown for 3 touchdowns and 9 interceptions, with an evaluation of 50.9 to boot.

Wilson moves on after passing for 1,944 yards, 6 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 10 games.
