New York Jets (3-6) – Houston Texans (6-3): 21-13
Sometimes a match can come down to one action. And what will remain of this victory for the Jets is certainly Garrett Wilson's completely crazy one-handed reception. With just under 13 minutes remaining, the Jets receiver caught a 26-yard pass in the end zone to give his team the advantage (14-10). A one-handed reception, legs apart, with the feet falling narrowly within the bounds of the court. So little that it took a video referee to grant this completely crazy reception, which the referees had initially not validated, thinking that Garrett Wilson had fallen back outside.
Finally, the most spectacular action of the 2024 season has been validated. It allowed the Jets to take an advantage that they never relinquished. But above all it allowed Garrett Wilson to earn a place in the pantheon of the most spectacular actions in the NFL, ten years after Odell Beckham's one-handed reception with the Giants, in the same New York stadium.

Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams meet
After the acrobatic number of Garrett Wilson (9 rec, 90 yards, 2 TDs), it was the other star receiver of the Jets who folded the meeting. Three minutes from the buzzer, Davante Adams (7 rec, 91 yards, 1 TD) caught a 37-yard pass for a new New York touchdown (21-10). Houston scored a field goal in stride, but the onside kick was covered by the same Davante Adams.
Enough to forget a cataclysmic start to the Jets match. Their first half: five punts, a fumble and not a single point. A tragicomic fumble, since committed by Malachi Corley who was going to score, but lost his leather while celebrating… a few centimeters before entering the end zone.
A total contrast with the second half, punctuated by three touchdowns in three possessions.
CJ Stroud massacred
A few weeks ago, the Texans would probably have taken advantage of their opponents' difficult first half to break away. But not this time. Deprived of Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs, CJ Stroud (11/30, 191 yards) experienced an ordeal. Abandoned by his offensive line, the young Houston quarterback was sacked 8 times! In total, he was put under pressure 33 times!
Even with valiant efforts from Joe Mixon (24 carries, 106 yards, 1 TD) and Tank Dell (6 rec, 126 yards), it was far too much to allow the Texans to win.
The Texans led 7-0 at the break, but two missed field goals and a defense that completely failed in the second part of the match buried them.
