Jets – Rams (9-19): Slowly but surely

New York Jets (4-11) – Los Angeles Rams (9-6): 9-19

In a match without rhythm, the Rams emerged from a quagmire in which they remained stuck for 3 quarters. Ultimately, it was the Californian defense that dealt the blow and carried its team to victory. A victory which allows the Californians to take the lead in their division while waiting for the Seahawks match. More than ever, Sean McVay's men are in the running for a place in the playoffs.

The Jets are taking their time… too much

Fans of explosive and dynamic attacks, move on. Both teams took their time. Time to unfold their game with river possessions, and time to clear a scoreboard stuck for a long time at one figure on each side.

Aaron Rodgers (28/42, 256 yards, 1 TD, 1 lost fumble) set the tone with an inaugural series of more than 8 minutes. 99 yards recovered, and the inevitable Davante Adams at the conclusion for his 5th touchdown in the last 4 games. Then the New York attack continues to eat up the clock but with significantly less success. No less than 15 minutes erased for a field goal and a 4th missed attempt.

At the start of the last quarter, the teams only had the lead 4 times each. The result is a feeling of a limp and flavorless match.

The Rams are gaining momentum

After a failed start to the match, punt then interception, the Californians took advantage of the rare opportunities where they regained control of the surge to first get back on track. Kyren Williams on the ground, then a field goal from Karty.

It’s the defense that will lead the way. Kamren Curl makes Rodgers lose control of the ball on a sack and rookie Jared Verse recovers it about twenty yards from the opposing goal. The punishment is immediate. Stafford finds Tyler Higbee to give his team the advantage. Fatal blow which puts an end to the hopes of the Greens. The attack stalls and the Jets go off the rails. A missed field goal then a botched punt, a nightmare end to the match, just like the season in the end.
