New blow for New York. The Jets will lose Alijah Vera-Tucker for the rest of the competition. Hit in the leg, the MRI confirmed Monday that the lineman tore his Achilles tendon.
Vera-Tucker had changed positions a few weeks ago, going from right guard to tackle, after Duane Brown’s injury. New York also moved Mekhi Becton from the right side to the left side. Possible replacements for his position will be Max Mitchell and Billy Turner.
Very bad news for Vera-Tucker, since her 2022 campaign had already been cut short due to a triceps problem.
Gotham will have to position itself in 2024 regarding the option of a fifth year of contract for the one who was selected with the 14th choice of the 2021 draft.
