Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (Browns) extends for 3 years

The all-round linebacker will continue to defend Ohio's lands

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah continues his adventure with the Browns for several years.

On Wednesday, the 24-year-old linebacker signed a three-year, $39 million contract extension. Of that $39 million, $25 million is guaranteed, according to NFL Network.

The former 2nd round pick of the 2021 Draft has been a key part of the Browns defense since the 2022 season. In 2023, he had his best season with 101 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 2 interceptions in 16 games. A 2023 season that ended with a nomination to the Pro Bowl.

The Browns are securing another player at a key position. The linebacker was entering the final year of his rookie contract before testing himself on the free agency market. The player will therefore not have the opportunity to do so with this extension.

In a very competitive AFC North division, the Browns want to show stability in their roster. The extensions of Dustin Hopkins (K) and Jerry Jeudy (WR) go in this direction. However, there is still the Jedricks Wills case to resolve. The former first round of the 2020 Draft saw his 5th year lifted, but the offensive lineman has still not been extended by the club.

With this extension, and the long contracts still in progress on the Browns side (Watson, Teller, Garrett, Cooper), the negotiations could become complicated. Especially having seen the biggest contract signed by an offensive lineman with Tristan Wirfs (Buccaneers).
