Javon Hargrave joins the 49ers for 4 years

Good luck managing the 49ers defensive line in 2023. ESPN announces that Javon Hargrave is heading to San Francisco.

The defensive tackle would have found an agreement for 4 years and 84 million dollars, including 40 million guaranteed. His agent confirmed the deal.

Drafted by the Steelers and then arrived in Philadelphia in 2020, Hargrave is coming off his best season, with 11 sacks in 2022. He also has 60 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2 covered fumbles and 2 deflected passes. At 30, he landed the biggest contract of his career.

The 49ers hit hard by recovering the one who was probably the best defensive tackle available during free agency. He comes with Arik Armstead and Javon Kinlaw to form a rather terrifying rotation in the center of the defensive line.

The blow is hard for the Eagles, who are seeing a major player leave in addition to strengthening a conference competitor.
