Jared Goff (Lions): “I have full control of the attack”

The quarterback seems delighted with his new offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

Jared Goff is confident. After a complicated first season individually in Michigan, the former Rams pitcher was confirmed in his starting position in the offseason.

No new quarterback on the horizon in Detroit, but a new offensive coordinator in the person of Ben Johnson, who will have to deal with Dan Campbell for the choice of games for the team. Whatever the combination, Goff feels great.

“I have full control and full responsibility for what happens on offense,” Goff said at a press conference. “They gave me the reins and I did my best. I know they are happy with what has happened so far. But I feel confident, and I trust those around me.

The 27-year-old quarterback seems to appreciate his more decisive role in the new team structure, especially since Johnson was able to adapt the game plan to the qualities of his player.

“The relationship with him is better than I could have imagined (…) The confidence he has in me, the questions he asks me and conversely that I can ask him… his ability to respond, how well he listens, all of that is a big help for a quarterback and I realize how lucky I am (…) He’s a great coach,” Goff continued.

Last season, the former Draft number one threw 19 touchdowns for 8 interceptions in 14 games.
