Jameis Winston joins the Browns

Jameis Winston understudying Deshaun Watson, you had to dare. The Browns did it.

Jameis Winston has found a new base by signing a contract with the Cleveland Browns.

This contract is for 1 year and $8.7 million, according to Bleacher Report.

The former Saints quarterback was of interest to many teams including the Giants and the Titans.

This therefore means the end of rumors of a return of Joe Flacco, author of a good season last year. Awarded the prize for the player who successfully returned in 2023, he threw 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in 2023.

The last chance for Jameis Winston?

Materializing his desire to be a starter elsewhere than at the Saints, the quarterback has just signed to be Deshaun Watson's understudy.

Considering the latter's last season and still not getting rid of his legal problems, he perhaps has a chance. There are now 3 quarterbacks on the Browns side for a starting spot: Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston and rookie drafted last year Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

At the Saints, the quarterback's record is not great, marked by a serious injury during the 2021 season. In 21 games played, he threw for 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

The Browns now have a pair of quarterbacks accused of sexual assault.
