Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12) – Tennessee Titans (3-13): 20-13
The Jaguars were far from impressive against the Titans, but they had the merit of being clean. Mac Jones (15/22, 174 yards, 2 TDs) and Brian Thomas (7 rec, 91 yards, 1 TD) were the driving forces behind their team this Sunday.
Jacksonville took advantage of the excitement of the Titans defense to convert 8 of its 13 third attempts. The Jaguars also improved their two passes in the opposing 20 yards with two touchdowns. All without losing the ball.
Too bad if they only gained 295 yards. It was enough while remaining clean.
The patient Jaguars
Clean, but also patient, the Jaguars. In the first half, Mac Jones led three possessions of at least 4 minutes, and another a little shorter following an interception by the defense, and capped by a touchdown from Parker Washington with the tip of his toes. At the break, it was 13-3 for Jacksonville.
And when Tennessee finally woke up with a pass from Mason Rudolph for a touchdown from Nick Vannett, the Jaguars responded with a little more than 9 minutes of possession and the winning touchdown from Brian Thomas (20-10).
Mason Rudolph not sharp enough
If Will Levis was a little too flashy, Mason Rudolph (19/31, 193 yards, 1 TD, 1 int) is always a little too wise. The spark is missing. However, the ground game worked quite well, with 153 yards at 5.3 yards per carry. But once brought closer by a kick (20-13) and a defensive stop, Tennessee had the ball to go for overtime. But Rudolph ultimately threw four incomplete passes in a row to end the game.
The Jaguars are the winners of the evening. The Titans are the winners in the Draft rankings.
