Jaguars land Arik Armstead for $51 million

Big reinforcement for the first curtain of Jacksonville. According to NFL Media, the Jaguars are close to signing Arik Armstead. ESPN specifies that the agreement is for 3 seasons and $51 million.

Cut by the 49ers at the start of the week, the 30-year-old defensive tackle quickly bounced back into a team with playoff ambitions. He was recruited by general manager Trent Baalke, the same one who drafted him in the first round in 2015, then a strong man of the 49ers.

He joins a defensive line lacking production in 2023 and hyper dependent on the all-too-lonely Josh Allen. His arrival should also relieve former 1st pick Trevon Walker. With two Super Bowl appearances and numerous playoff matches, he will also bring experience at a very high level and big matches.
