Authors of a promising start to the season, the Jaguars have decided to strengthen their offensive line with the arrival of Ezra Cleveland. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media announced the arrival of the guard from the Vikings. Minnesota gets a 6th round pick in the 2024 draft in exchange.
Aged 25, Cleveland was drafted in the second round of the 2020 draft. He was the starter at left guard since 2021 and has not missed a single game since. His start to the season is very interesting, since he only conceded one sack. Pro Football Focus also ranks him as the 8th best guard in the NFL in 2023.
Jacksonville is getting a young, promising offensive lineman back to protect Trevor Lawrence. In their race for the playoffs, they therefore choose intelligent reinforcement in the trenches, for less compensation. At the end of the contract, everything indicates that Ezra Cleveland could extend the adventure with the Jaguars, if of course he continues to evolve at the level he has been for 2 years.
