Hall of Fame Game: Bears – Texans to open the preseason

CJ Stroud versus the No. 1 pick in the 2024 Draft. In theory, this could be the poster child for the 2024 Hall of Fame Game.

This Tuesday, the Hall of Fame announced that the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans will face each other on Thursday, August 1 for the traditional first meeting of the preseason. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 a.m. Thursday night.

As usual, the meeting is planned on the sidelines of the celebrations of the Hall of Fame vintage. This year, Dwight Freeney, Devin Hester, Andre Johnson, Julius Peppers, Patrick Willis, Randy Gradishar (senior) and Steve McMichael (senior) will be honored.

A match without stars?

If the hope is to see CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams on the field, the reality could be very different. Last year, the Browns and Jets rested Deshaun Watson and Aaron Rodgers for the Hall of Fame Game. Dorian Thompson-Robinson was the hero of the evening and Zach Wilson had a stint on the field.

So it seems more likely to see Tyson Bagent and Davis Mills than the stars.
