It was certainly one of the most beautiful stories of the 2022 season. A Geno Smith that no one expected, effective at the head of a Seahawks attack that one would have thought orphaned by Russell Wilson.
Monday night, the Seattle franchise announced that it has reached an agreement with Smith for a contract extension.
ESPN specifies that it is a three-year contract for 105 million dollars, with 52 million from the first year. The deal comes hours before the deadline to land her franchise tag, which will allow the Seahawks to have that option for another player if she chooses.
Smith finished last season with the league’s best completion percentage (69.8%) for 4,282 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
