Franchise tag: eight players selected, the results

The teams have drawn the franchise tag less in 2022. A little. Nine players were selected last year. It will be eight in 2022.

And in the lot, there are two doubles. Chris Godwin and Cam Robinson each received a second consecutive tag.

Elsewhere, the tight ends have been spoiled, and the Bengals have retained one of the great artisans of their fine playoff campaign.

Davante Adams is the biggest name to receive the tag. Among those who escape it, JC Jackson now has a clear field to land one of the biggest contracts in free agency, which begins on Monday, March 14.

They received the franchise tag

Davante Adams – Receiver – Packers – $20.145 million

Chris Godwin – Receiver – Buccaneers – $18.419 million

Mike Gesicki – Tight end – Dolphins – $10.913 million

David Njoku – Tight end – Browns – $10.913 million
