Who will be able to stop Marseille? Once again, the Blue Stars played to scare themselves. But, for the second week in a row, they won by a small point to maintain their invincibility and the lead in the Southern Conference.
After the Bears of Toulouse, this time it was Cannes which paid the price. In a tight match from start to finish, Marseillais and Cannes went blow for blow, with the Iron Masks constantly coming back into the game. However, on the touchdown conversion that could offer the equalizer to Cannes, a penalty pushed the kicker back 15 yards, who missed his kick (28-27). A hard blow for the Iron Masks in their race for the playoffs, and a boon for the Blue Stars, who remain the only undefeated team in the country.
This defeat of Cannes benefits the Toulouse Bears, who beat the Catalan Grizzlys (12-10). The Occitans catch up with the Iron Masks, and remain within gunshot of the Nice Dauphins, before facing these two teams to end the regular season.
In the Northern Conference, the Flash resumed their march forward, a week after their draw against the defending champion, the Black Panthers. Indeed, La Courneuve easily beat Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône (43-7), the only team to have beaten them this season.
The Leopards of Rouen took a clear advantage over the Molosses of Asnières. The Normans beat the Ile-de-France residents (24-20), thanks to three touchdowns in the air from the duo Jaran Roste-Justin Fonteneaux. Rouen thus takes the advantage in this duel for the last qualifying place for the playoffs.
