A few days before the start of the 2024 season, receiver Brandon Aiyuk extends his contract with the 49ers. It is therefore the end of a long saga that will have lasted the entire offseason.
There will therefore be no transfer for the 26-year-old player, who will therefore remain with the reigning finalists for 4 years and 120 million dollars according to NFL Network. Of these 120 million, 76 million are guaranteed.
A just reward for the receiver after his best season of his career last year. In statistical terms, he has a 2023 season with 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and 7 touchdowns
Brandon Aiyuk at same contract level as Tyreek Hill
With this extension, Brandon Aiyuk joins the clan of receivers who received a big contact. Selected in the 1st round of the 2020 Draft, he is the 12th player from the first round of his class to receive an extension. The 4th receiver after Jerry Jeudy, Justin Jefferson and the latest, CeeDee Lamb, while waiting for Ja'Marr Chase (Bengals).
With this new contract, Aiyuk becomes the 5th highest paid receiver, tied with … Tyreek Hill, the best player voted by his peers in the official NFL top 100.
By extending Aiyuk, the 49ers are solidifying their future at key positions, while waiting for left tackle Trent Williams, who is still on strike and looking for one last big contract.
