Atlanta Falcons (6-3) – Dallas Cowboys (3-5): 27-21
The Dallas Cowboys are in crisis, and may have lost Dak Prescott (18/24, 133 yards, 1 TD) and Ceedee Lamb (47 yards). Atlanta takes advantage and wins a valuable victory. This is the main lesson of a match which turned into a fiasco for the Texans.
Kirk Cousins (19/24, 222 yards, 3 TD) and his attack did the job, shining intermittently but enough to turn this game around in the third quarter. The defense can also smile, with a dominant performance.
On the Dallas side, it is therefore not the match that is lost, but perhaps more. The injuries to Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb are a huge blow, and the rest of the offense doesn't have the shoulders to compensate. The ground game is catastrophic, and there is no true number 2 receiver. The defense is no better, and the group is on the verge of implosion.
The Falcons are ever closer to the playoffs, the Cowboys ever further away.
Kirk Cousins is on fire, Dallas is not giving up
The start of the match is one-sided, as Atlanta seems to be on top. After a Cowboys field goal, Kirk Cousins found Drake London (27 yards, 1 TD) for the first touchdown of the evening. Imperial in the air, Cousins then found Darnell Mooney (88 yards, 1 TD) to double the lead (14-3). Despite the pressure from the defense, the Falcons find solutions.
With their backs to the wall, Dak Prescott and his men remain in the match. Rico Dowdle probably makes one of the luckiest receptions of the season for the touchdown (14-10). Almost a miracle for Dallas to be in the race.
Uninspired Mike McCarthy weighs down his team, Dak Prescott injured
It is not an exaggeration to say that this match was decided at the start of the third quarter. In punt position on the Texans 38, Dallas attempts a conversion from the punter to the pass in an extremely disorganized game. Immediate punishment with the Falcons in a good position who score a touchdown by Ray-Ray McLoud (21-10).
Dallas loses this game, and Dak Prescott leaves the field after a hand injury. Atlanta does not lose its prey and increases the lead with a powerful touchdown from Tyler Allgeier on the ground (27-13). Eight minutes before the end of the match, the fate is already sealed.
Cooper Rush finds Jalen Tolbert for the touchdown, for the honor (27-21).
