The Paris Musketeers beat the Cologne Centurions 60-25 after a one-sided second period.
Paris Musketeers – Cologne Centurions: 60-25
The Paris Musketeers are back to winning ways. This is the third in four matches in this ELF season.
Unlike its last outings, the French franchise won in style. The defense stands out as the real strength of this team and the attack is capable of being explosive at any time of the match. A pleasant and victorious cocktail.
Barbed wire and champagne
The Musketeers “easily” disposed of the Centurions of Cologne. The class difference between the two institutions was obvious but it took time to emerge during the match. At half-time, the score of 20-19 left some doubt.
Congratulations must be given once again to the Parisian defense that kept the Musketeers in the game in the first half when everything was still to be done. Both attacks chained together turnovers. Zach Edwards was too imprecise and was intercepted for a pick six. While the Centurions lost the ball several times under the constant aggression of the blue defenders.
The half-time speech must have been muscular. The second period delivered a much more frank verdict. With the confidence given by the defense, the attack suddenly freed itself, inflicting a stinging 40-6.
If the calls have not changed, with many vertical routes facing the cover 2 Centurions static, Zach Edwards gained in precision to find Florian Larose, Hugo Tekedam and all their teammates. The ground game, very efficient, was also rewarded with a 79-yard touchdown from Jason Aguemon.
The MVPs: Amir Kilani (CB) & Dauson Dales (LB)
Choosing a player to reward all the work of the Parisian defense is not an easy thing after this match. The defensive squad as a whole played a perfect match. The Centurions had no solution whether on the ground or in the air. Turnovers rained down on the match with multiple fumbles including one returned for a touchdown.
In this football orgy, nickelback Amir Kilani is a good example of his team's anti-aircraft work. He flew in the first half as well as on his opponents. His activity in tackling was also a great strength.
Dauson Dales played in the same rhythm as his teammate. The linebacker annihilated the German running game. He even participated in the party… on offense, with a 40-yard touchdown reception on a short pass on 4e attempt.
