ELF: the Paris Musketeers inflict a correction

Paris Musketeers – Cologne Centurions: 60-25

The Paris Musketeers return to victory. This is the third match in four this ELF season.

Unlike its last outings, the French franchise won in style. The defense stands out as the real strength of this team and the attack is capable of being explosive at any time of the match. A pleasant and victorious cocktail.

Barbed wire and champagne

The Musketeers “easily” disposed of the Centurions of Cologne. The class difference between the two institutions was obvious but it took time to emerge during the match. At half-time, the score of 20-19 left some doubt.

We must once again congratulate the Parisian defense which kept the Mousquetaires in the match in the first half when everything remained to be done. The two attacks had a series of turnovers. Zach Edwards was too inaccurate and was intercepted for a pick six. While the Centurions fumbled the ball several times under constant attacks from the blue defenders.

The half-time speech must have been tough. The second period delivered a much clearer verdict. With the confidence given by the defense, the attack suddenly broke free, inflicting a scathing 40-6.

While the playcalling hasn't changed, with a lot of vertical routes against the Centurions' static cover 2, Zach Edwards has gained in accuracy to find Florian Larose, Hugo Tekedam and all their teammates. The very efficient ground game was also rewarded with a 79-yard touchdown from Jason Aguemon.

The MVPs: Amir Kilani (CB) & Dauson Dales (LB)

Choosing a player to reward all the work of the Parisian defense is not an easy thing after this match. The defensive squad as a whole played a perfect match. The Centurions had no solution whether on the ground or in the air. Turnovers rained down on the match with multiple fumbles including one returned for a touchdown.

In this orgy of football, nickelback Amir Kilani well represents the anti-aircraft work of his team. He flew in the first half as well as his opponents. His tackling activity was also a great strength.

Dauson Dales played in the same rhythm as his teammate. The linebacker annihilated the German running game. He even participated in the party… on offense. Indeed, he received a short pass out of 4e attempt and extended it 40 yards for a touchdown.

The next match: Paris Mousquetaires (3-1) vs Hamburg Sea Devils (2-1)
