ELF: big defeat for the Musketeers

The Parisian team will not have been deceived, during this 3rd week of European League Football, against the Germans of Rhein Fire.

45-12 at halftime, then 58-28 at the final whistle. Suffice to say that the Musketeers were largely beaten for their second trip across the Rhine. In a one-sided match, the Germans coached by Jim Tomsula showed why they were among the favorites for the final title.

Exploded in the air

The match was decided in the first half and the Musketeers lost it in defence. Without being good in attack, the Parisian team managed a few actions but was quickly dropped by its defense.

Indeed, quarterback Jadrian Clark literally dissected the Parisian defense in the first half with 6 touchdowns and 340 yards thrown! The player was well helped by three receivers over 100 yards at the reception including the French Anthony Mahoungou (4 rec, 106 yards). Faced with such an aerial wave, the Musketeers did not find the defensive answer.

A little better but too late

In the second half, the Parisians did better, notably with a 16-0 in the 3rd quarter. In attack, Zach Edwards (QB) and Stephen Yepmo (RB) sound the revolt with two touchdowns in the race. On the defense side, the coahs find the right adjustments and finally manage to limit the game of passing locals. Nevertheless, it is difficult not to imagine that the Rhein Fire play relaxed given their lead in the score.

Moreover, as soon as Paris tried to come back, the Germans put back the second to win the fourth quarter 13 to 0. Letting think that they always had control over this match.

With this defeat, the second in a row, the Musketeers fall to 4th place in their conference. Next week, they will face the Galaxies Frankfurt (1-1), current second in the conference. A decisive match to relaunch a positive dynamic and return to the top of the division.
