Put away the farewell messages, Darius Slay is more of an Eagles player than ever. ESPN announces that the cornerback has signed a 2-year contract extension which could earn him up to $42 million. Of this amount, 23 million are guaranteed.
Slay was entering the final year of his contract. With this extension, he is therefore linked to Philadelphia for a total of three seasons.
Author of 55 tackles and 3 interceptions for the NFC champions last season, Slay will continue to be part of an aerial cover that could ultimately limit damage during this transfer window. Philadelphia executives re-signed James Bradberry, and they also brought in Greedy Williams.
It remains to be seen if they will be able to bring in CJ Gardner-Johnson.
