Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa sent to injured list

Bad sports news that is probably a good thing. According to NFL Media, Tua Tagovailoa will be placed on injured reserve following his new concussion suffered against the Bills last Thursday. A decision synonymous with forced rest for a minimum of four weeks. The decision would be intended to give the player more time to fully recover and consult neurologists.

Already the victim of two rather spectacular and worrying concussions in 2022, the health of the Dolphins quarterback has been at the heart of all the debates in recent days. But at least this season, we won't see him back on the field the following week. Tagovailoa has still not spoken after this new episode around his health. These weeks away from training will give him time to think.

Retirement would be golden

Extended for more than $200 million in July, including $167 million fully guaranteed, an early retirement could reshuffle the cards. If the player decides on his own to stop, he will then only receive the amount of his signing bonus, or $43 million. But if the decision comes from the medical profession, then Tua Tagovailoa will receive the entire $167 million guaranteed. A trifle of $124 million difference.
