The task was difficult, it is now impossible. This Sunday, the Dolphins face the Bills in the AFC Wild Card. Without Tua Tagovailoa, still in concussion protocol, the Dolphins must also deal with the finger injury of Teddy Bridgewater suffered in week 17. It is therefore number 3 Skylar Thompson who will again be at the head of the Florida attack.
This will be Thompson’s third start, but the eighth game in which he has played. A testament to the health issues faced by Dolphins pitchers.
Last week, Thompson painstakingly led the Dolphins to victory over the Jets, 11-6.
His lackluster record (20/31, 152 yards) will need to be drastically improved if the Dolphins are to compete with ultra-favorite Bills (odds at 1.10 at time of writing, vs. 5.35 for Dolphins qualifying).
