Dolphins: Mike McDaniel named head coach

After the surprise dismissal of Brian Flores, Miami has a new coach. It was the 49ers offensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel, who landed the job and signed a 4-year contract. It was the franchise itself which announced it, and ESPN specifies that it was played between him and Kellen Moore (Cowboys).

A former member of the prestigious Yale University, McDaniel began his career under Gary Kubiak at the Texans, before enjoying various functions in several NFL franchises. For the record, he was in the coaching staff of the Redskins in 2013, like Sean McVay, Mike Lafleur or Mike Shanahan.

It is with the latter that he continued his career, since he spent the last four seasons with the Niners, the last of which as offensive coordinator. He will therefore have the difficult task of succeeding Flores, in order perhaps to give a new dimension to this attack. He needs to answer certain puzzles, like the position of quarterback, but he has a very large available payroll to forge his group.
