If there was still any doubt about the Dolphins’ ambitions, it was cleared up. The Florida franchise picked up Broncos linebacker Bradley Chubb against a 2023 1st round pick (that of the 49ers), a 2024 4th round pick and running back Chase Edmonds.
Chubb, 25, was drafted with the fifth pick in 2018 by Denver. In the Broncos jersey, he made 170 tackles, 26 sacks, 1 interception and 6 forced fumbles.
On a less positive note, he also missed 24 games due to repeated injuries.
The Dolphins are therefore paying dearly for an injury-prone player with an expiring contract. Indeed, he is currently in his fifth and final year of rookie contract, and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. But, in full possession of his means, Bradley Chubb is a significant contribution to the defense of the Dolphins.
