Denzel Perryman: “Jim Harbaugh reminds me of Will Ferrell”

Asked about his first impressions with Jim Harbaugh at the helm of the Chargers, Denzel Perryman delivered a surprising answer. He would look like Will Ferrell…

We didn't see that one coming! At a press conference Monday, Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman received an innocuous question. What does he think of Jim Harbaugh, his new coach?

Or rather, what first impression did the former coach of the Michigan Wolverines give him? The answer is surprising.

“I hope I don't get in trouble for this, but he reminds me of Will Ferrellfirst explained the player.

I don't know if it's the way he speaks or his analogies, but he definitely reminds me of Ferrell. It's funny to me, but I know he wants to do things well and that everything comes from the heart. I feel like it takes a real sense of humor to understand the meaning of his phrases and gimmicks. But I love it! I love him as a coach and I love the direction he’s taking us. »

As soon as Jim Harbaugh starts making jokes, I stop laughing

Amused by the response, reporters took the opportunity to ask Perryman if Harbaugh resembled any particular Ferrell character.

Not really, according to the linebacker.

“He just looks like Will Ferrell in generalhe indicated. Step Brothers (Frangins despite them, in French), looks quite a bit like him. But he has an aura of Ferrell. And I don't know if it's the sound of his voice or the way he talks, but the first thing that comes to mind with him is Will Ferrell. Obviously, I take him seriously when he speaks. But as soon as he starts making jokes, I stop laughing. »

We are perhaps a little far from the image that the new head coach of Los Angeles wants to project. But at least Harbaugh seems to be succeeding in captivating and motivating his troops. While entertaining Perryman this offseason.
