David Montgomery joins the Lions for 3 seasons

First incumbent runner to move during this free agency, David Montgomery leaves the Bears but remains in NFC North and goes to the side of the Lions.

According to ESPN, the running back has committed to Detroit for the next 3 years and an $18 million contract. His arrival is certainly synonymous with the end of the adventure in Michigan for one of the darlings of the locker room, Jamaal Williams at the end of the contract.

A complete and efficient runner, Montgomery will form a powerful duo with D’Andre Swift to support Jared Goff. Drafted in 2019, the 25-year-old has always achieved at least 800 yards on the ground per season, including a 2020 season beyond the symbolic barracks of 1000 yards.
