Dates to remember from the 2024 NFL offseason

After the Super Bowl, a new NFL season is already looming. Because officially, the 2024 season will open in March.

Here are the main dates of the NFL offseason to remember for the months to come.

February 20: opening of the franchise tag period

Teams can place their franchise tag on a player who will become a free agent to retain him for a year.

February 27 to March 4: Scouting Combine

The best candidates for the Draft are gathered in Indianapolis for a series of tests and measurements.

March 5: franchise tag deadline

Teams have until 4 p.m. (10 p.m. in France) to place their tag.

March 11 to 13: free agency negotiation period

Players free from any contract can negotiate with all teams. But they do not have the right to officially sign a new contract.

March 13: official start of the 2024 NFL season at 4 p.m. (10 p.m. in France)

March 13: opening of free agency
